Day 0 - UWindsor

Hello friends! So technically my road trip hasn't officially started yet, but since I am already in Windsor visiting my family, I thought I'd get a bit of a head start and go to the University of Windsor. My good friend Julia Costa gave me a tour of the campus, and I got to see a lot of pretty cool things. I stopped by the Windsor EngSoc Office, which had a very cozy/home-y feel to it. I got to see their main Engineering building (the Ed Lumley Centre for Engineering Innovation), as well as a lot of the other buildings that Engineers often have classes/labs in. I got to see UWindsor's green roof, which they are apparently very proud of.

One thing that I really appreciated on their campus was their memorial of the Ă‰cole Polytechnique massacre, which was right in the middle of their campus. On top of that, I got to see their "Copper Wall", which is where the Engineers used to hang out before they got their nice new building. It got its name by being a literal giant wall made of copper. The University of Windsor overall has some... interesting works of art all around it. A lot of them were very random and didn't really have anything to do with anything, but definitely helped provide an aesthetic to the university. Fun fact: UWindsor now is what Assumption University used to be, so a lot of the buildings are from the late 1800's, which I thought was really cool to see.

One thing that I started, which I plan on doing at all the schools I'll be visiting, is tapping my iron ring on their school's main campus sign and filming it. Hopefully I'll be able to compile a video of that from every school by the end of my trip.
